Week 45

I will just say this week we have focused alot on our investigators with dates so they actually get baptized and they dont decide not to last second.

Week 44

My weekly letter is called ¨Hi I´m Elder Garfield, will you please get baptized?¨
Well this has been an interesting week for sure! Ha. Me and Elder Vargas have cracked down on our investigators because we havent had a baptism since March. We have 6 dates for baptism and 3 of them have to get married so we will see how that goes. We are honestly inviting all to get baptized, no matter what it takes to get there. All the dates will be this next transfer and we are praying they stay with the goal to get baptized. Crazy experience! We got a reference like 2 weeks ago from a less active member. Her name is Judy. She is the 2nd Golden Investigator I have had in the mission. She came to church the first time because she was curious and ended up loving it!! We have taught here like 4 times only because she lives far away and we have to take a ruta (bus) to get to her house. The last time we were teaching her, we decided to commit her to baptism. When we asked her the question, tears started flowing from here eyes and she was like ¨Of course!¨ We asked her why she was crying and she said ¨Its just so difficult that people arent taking the right path in life and you cant help them¨ I was like wow. She sounds like a missionary! She will definitily be a great future member! Haa! Things here have been great! It has rained A TON the last 4 days but I love it! So fun to work in the rain! Well I hope you are all doing great! I love you and miss you all!

WEEK 43

This week is called "La mejor Madre" This week was amazing! Especially with seeing my amazing family! I miss them and love them so much! But, this week was good! I have been thinking a ton about how I can be a better missionary and help the people out more and it seems like I have found my groove! We have 5 investigators who say they know the church is true and want to be baptized, they just have to do some of the commitments we leave with them! But I really love the mission. Its hard. Its hot always. But I love it! I am so grateful I got called to this mission! Me and Elder Vargas have been searching for more families and we have found a few! Lets pray they progress! Well we also went to the beach as a zone and it was so amazing! It looked a lot like Mexico and I felt like I was on vacation with my fam! Anyways, I love the mission so much and what I am doing here! Have a great week and I love and miss you all so much! Elder Garfield

Week 42

This week is called "Here we go again" Well I am still here in Puerto Plata with Elder Vargas. I am happy but I am not so sure how he feels. I think he just wants to get out of here because he is still in his first area! He has almost 6 months and I feel bad for him! But these next 6 weeks will go fast I am sure. We havent had a ton of success. We have like 7 or 8 less-actives come to church and we are reactivating a family so thats cool but no for sure baptisms this next week! I cant belive I am already going to talk to you guys again this week! So crazy how fast time flies by! I think I will be talking to you about 7 my time so about 4 your time. If I am late, you will know! If I am early, it will be after you guys are done with church! I am loving my mission so far! Things are really making me a better person and helping me grow up! I really have thought about my life after the mission and what and who I want to be and I know I am on the right track of my goal! I hope you guys have an amazing mothers day becuase I for sure will have an amazing one talking to you! Also, me and Elder Day had an intercambio and it was so nice to hang out with him and get out and work hard! I feel like the same person but also think I have changed a little! Ha we will see! I love and miss you all so much! Have a great week! see you Sunday! Elder Garfield
