WEEK 62

This week email is called "Dreamin" Well this week has been good. We have been finding some amazing families to teach and I have been loving the mission so much! I cant believe in a week I will have only 9 months left. As I was doing laundry today, I was like "Wow, 1 year and 2 months have passed... where has the time gone?!?" I honestly feel like I have been here for 2 months. This week I have had some pretty interesting dreams. I dreamt 3 nights in a row that I was with the whole fam. Coop was beating me up :( , kylie was as cute as always, B and whit and the kids were all laughing at something, Mom and dad were super happy I was home! Maybe it was revelation of what will happen in the future (except for cooper beating me up!) Haha another thing about sleeping. When people get to things late (which happens alot here) I act like i am sleeping like I used to. haha Everyone think its super funny. I was waiting for the bishops wife to cook us some food and I acted like I was asleep so she shakes my comps hand and she looks at me and is like "Is he really sleeping?" then she taps my arm to wake me up. haha it was funny. And another time this less active family always takes forever to get everyone rounded up so when the mom came in once I acted like I was sleeping and she was so shocked and was saying to my comp "Let him sleep, he works so hard!" I kept acting like I was alseep for like 10 more minutes until she had to wake me up. haha anyways enough about my shenanigans. We have found some great investigators and I am hoping they progress! Things here in the mish are just super duper! I love you and miss you all! Be safe! Elder Garfield

WEEK 61

well this week is called ¨Mish love¨ Well this week has been great! I am in love with the mish. Even though I am still in this area, I am making the best of being here! I love all the blessings that the mission has to offer me as long as I offer myself! This week we have been doing a lot of contacting, which is still super awkward for me because most of the people just pull the ¨I already have a bible¨ card on us. I still dont understand what that has to do with us sharing a message with them. We aint just giving out free bibles. But other then that, The mish is nice. I have sweated a ton this week. Its hot here and stopped raining. I always say that I only have a couple buckets full of sweat left before I get home! its nice to say that! But I was talking to my friend Elder Byland the other day about some of our friends that have came home from their missions and I realized if I would have come home early from the mission, I wouldnt be able to imagine how my life would be. This mission has been the biggest blessing I have had in my life, even though its tough. Even though I am rejected a ton, even if all the ladies (even the grannies) flirt with me and I have to just smile and say ¨Sorry no hugs, I can only shake your hand¨ Ha. Thats the mish life! Well I love you and and thank you for all the support! You are all amazing! Elder Garfield

WEEK 60

this week is called ¨Hey, do you like live here or something?¨ Well another 6 weeks in Torre Alta. That will make 9 months! Welp, I hope that these 6 are better then the last 30! Things here are good. I announced in sacrament meeting 2 weeks ago when I was assigned a talk that I was leaving. I had a couple people come up to me after and tell me that they were going to call president so that I would stay another. They got their wish! Others I think were super happy I was leaving. Yeah I got some haters here. Drake said it best ¨Thanks to all the haters, I know G6 pilots on a first name basis.¨ Yeah, I just quoted a rap song in my missionary mail. I am still with my ¨son¨ Elder Faalogo and we are going to work SO HARD this transfer! We are hoping to get 2 families married and baptized in this next month! Hope it all goes as planned! I love the mission and love the work I am doing. I have a new favorite scripture! 2 Corinthions 12: 9-10. I have confronted my challenges head on in my mish. There were some victories and some losses. But I know that through the power of Christ, I may become perfect like him one day! I love you and miss you all! Elder Garfield

WEEK 59

This weekly email is called ¨Well, that was real.... real bad!¨ Well, I feel like I have been here for 50 years and I think I might be here for another 6 weeks! I guess we will see. I know if I stay here in Torre Alta, someone is waiting for me here who I missed in these last 7 months! I am so in love with missionary work, even though its very difficult sometimes! The end of this transfer marks the end of training for Elder Faalogo and I! This has definitely been an interesting 3 months but I have learned so much! We have been having some obstacles with our investigators because some have issues with marriage so they cant get baptized when they are single if they live with someone. I have given some pretty good talking toos with preaching repentence to those who have commited the bad sin. I just think marriage would be SO MUCH EASIER THAN CONDEMNATION. But thats just me. Well things here are going well! hoping to find some new peole to teach! I love this work so much, even though its tough. I love you all and hope you are all doing welll! No crazy cat stories this week! Have a great week! Elder Garfield
