WEEK 92

this weekly letter is called ¨Relajo¨ Well this week has been pretty great! We have 2 baptisms planned for this Saturday and I also should be going to the temple with my recent converts to do their endowments so I am more than stoked! This Saturday Esmeralda and Joan will be getting baptized and I thought I would share the story of Esmeralda! So Esmeralda is 17 and one of my most favorite soon to be converts! One day Elder Day and I were walking down the street to do some contacting in an area we really have never worked in. We went and passed by a member to talk to her a bit and ask for a reference then all of a sudden this girl comes out of nowhere and tells us ¨My sister wants you to preach to her and my family¨ This happens on the day that we get told to teach someone with the main intention being to bible bash us or talk bad about our religion. So we went down, met Esmeralda and the girl that told us to preach to them was actually Esmeraldas sister, Yuneiry. We started the lesson and it went pretty well. We invited them all to church and we weren't expecting them to go. The next Sunday, Esmeralda showed up and we were so surprised! We passed by again the next week and we found out that missionaries used to pass by her house to teach her mom but she was never interested. Since then, she has progressed so much and has accepted EVERYTHING (She even has attended the last 2 weeks of seminary without missing once!). Last night, we had a lesson with her and we brought Yeilin because they are friends and we thought it would be good to have her there. We teach her a little bit about how important her baptism is going to be and what she has to expect for the future. At the end of the lesson, she decided to tell us that is so crazy how much her life has changed from learning about this gospel. She said the day that she sent her sister to talk to us, she was just trying to play a joke on us and did not expect to accept really much of  anything. When we taught her the first lesson, she said she felt something very special and since that day, her life has changed! She now has plans on going on a mission at the same time as Yeilin (my other recent convert) and she hasn't even got baptized yet. This mission is so awesome. I love the mission life and all the amazing experiences that I have had here! I love you and thanks for all your love and support! Have a great week! Elder Garfield
